Thursday May 19, 2016 - Denver, CO to Cheyenne, WY

We traveled from Denver International up to Cheyenne, WY to stage for thunderstorms for Friday afternoon.

Friday May 20, 2016 - Cheyenne, WY to Sidney, NE

We worked thunderstorms in southeast Wyoming.












Cheyenne, WY Doppler Radar run by the National Weather Service.

















We were able to catch up to a few storms in Southwest Wyoming.















Saturday May 21, 2016 - Sidney, NE to Garden City, KS

Sidney, Nebraska heading towards Garden City, KS.


Equipment is staged and we are standing by for storm initiation.












Chasers and researchers from around the area have pulled in.  Donald and I wonder about visiting with others and looking at the equipment.











DOW 6, 7 and 8 arrive in the area where many storm chasers have converged at a local gas station












Tom briefly chats with Josh Wurman who leads the radar research team.























We were observing the initial thunderstorm but soon were cut off from going back with a storm filling in behind us. 

We elected to stay in front to avoid the large hail that was falling behind us. 

A tornado formed briefly on the rear storm.

















Northwest of the storm nickel size hail begins to fall as we observe the double rainbow.














Mammantus Clouds are present as we work back south of the storm.

Traced the May 25th Tornado path and observation of damage along the tornado track.

Observed a few thunderstorms along the Interstate and then traveled to Hays, Kansas to stage for Friday.

Traveling south to stage in Amarillo for Sunday.  Stopped off at NWS Dodge City and left copies of photos and video of the Ransom Tornado from Friday.

Josh Wurman provided the keynote presentation on his work with the Doppler on Wheels program at the Wednesday night dinner.  DOW 6 is pictured with the conference attendees.
